Ocean Ridge Plantation.
A warm welcome, by design.
Comfort, every day.
A welcome for many.
The owners wanted a home shaped around their lifestyle and comfort, with a second purpose close to their hearts: the entire upper floor was planned for hosting missionary families and military veterans.
Warm cedar details run through the interior and exterior. Sid's three stops on a walkthrough are the cedar at the entry, family-room ceiling and fireplace; the upper viewing deck overlooking the golf course; and the rear porch that leads into the outdoor living areas.

Character throughout.
From the entry to the family-room ceiling, warm wood gives the home a distinctive thread. In the angled den, a floor-to-ceiling cedar and stone fireplace becomes the focal point.

Cedar accents, stonework, and custom millwork connect the spaces.
Made for living.
Ready to welcome.
A blue island anchors the kitchen, with a wood range hood and open shelving adding warmth. The adjoining great room keeps conversation connected, while the upper floor provides space to host the guests the owners built this home to welcome.

A different pace.
A wider view.
The upper viewing deck looks out over the golf course. Below, an expansive rear porch opens toward outdoor living areas—one of Sid's favorite parts of the home.
What the photographs
can't tell you.
Making the home fit.
Getting the home to fit properly on the lot was the biggest challenge. Sid recalls that the space allocated for the air-conditioning equipment had to satisfy both Ocean Ridge's community requirements and building-code requirements—a detail that required careful coordination.
Getting the finish right.
The stamped section of the driveway was poured in the wrong color. Joe caught the mismatch, and the section was removed and replaced with the correct color.
Bringing the build closer.
The owners lived out of state for most of construction. Biweekly Zoom progress meetings and biweekly progress photographs sent by email kept them informed and involved as their home took shape.
